- Connecting with Peninsula people for Jesus

Dear friends,

As I write to you today the wind is howling outside and  the rain has subsided on this  wintry day. It feels as though winter has come early this year.

Winter is the season I like least. I feel more confined in winter as we don’t see as much sunshine. I wonder which is your least liked season??

No matter, we need winter for many reasons, especially for the rain and we are blessed in Adelaide to have the four seasons.

In our lives we too have many seasons. There are seasons of growth, seasons of abundance, seasons of relinquishment, and seasons of hibernation. Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a season for every activity under heaven.  I wonder what season you are in right now??

Whatever the season is, our faith teaches us “ in all circumstances give thanks to the Lord, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you  ”( 1 Thess 5:18 ) Giving thanks is a good spiritual practise, when the weather is inclement or  when life is difficult, because being thankful helps to bring us God’s peace.

During winter there many things to be thankful for: warm fires, hot soup, the telephone birds that sing,  good books to read! Remember there is always a warm welcome for you at the church.

Come and warm up with your friends- there is nothing like friendship to warm you up.  There is something on at the church from Tuesday to Sunday.

Yours in Christ.

Rev. Frances.
