Taperoo Community Library Cafe
A cafe incorporating a street library, internet hub and playground
Our idea is a Community Cafe Library to encourage literacy and build community by providing a neighbourhood place:
-
to access the internet through free wi-fi;
-
to meet neighbours for a chat and coffee;
-
to be used for community events (e.g. an opening party and school holiday events);
-
where parents and caregivers can relax with a coffee and book while their children play in the play area, or browse a book with their child;
-
to exchange reading books on the way to or from school; and
-
where residents can access library and computer facilities.
To make our idea a reality we are seeking funding from the Fund My Neighbourhood program.
Fund My Neighbourhood is a $40 million participatory budgeting program that gives
South Australians the power to nominate and vote for projects to improve their
neighbourhoods.
The program allocates funding on the basis of the votes lodged by the community.
We need your vote to make this happen and help improve our community.
